Your Responsibilities
As a business, you carry a responsibility to dispose of any and all commercial waste in a responsible way.
Many big businesses are also working towards their own environmental responsibility goals for the sake of both PR and (we hope!) a genuine care for the environment we live in.
Here at Skip It, we understand what’s expected of you and the challenges you face in trying to meet those targets. That’s why we’ve tailored our business waste collection services to meet your needs and help you deliver on your environmental goals.
Your responsibilities
We’re sure you’re aware of your responsibilities already, but just in case, here’s a reminder.
The government outlines your responsibilities as the following:
- Keep waste to a minimum by doing everything you reasonably can to prevent, reuse, recycle or recover waste (in that order)
- Sort and store waste safely and securely
- Complete a waste transfer note for each load of waste that leaves your premises
- Check if your waste carrier is registered to dispose of waste
- Do not allow the waste carrier to dispose of your waste illegally (and report them to Crimestoppers if they do)
Any waste that comes from commercial activity is business waste. This also includes waste that comes from construction, demolition, industry and agriculture.
Moving waste between countries to dispose of it isn’t permitted and anyone who wants to dispose of their own waste regularly must register as a waste carrier.
Business waste collection services
Working with an accredited waste management company, such as Skip It, will go a long way in helping you to meet these responsibilities. Accountable to the highest standards and fully committed to making London a cleaner space for everyone, Skip It deliver reliable business waste collection services all over London.
Environmental responsibility is at the core of everything we do. In fact, last year, 92 per cent of the rubbish we handled avoided landfill thanks to our commitment to recycling.
If you’re working towards a recycling goal, we’d be delighted to help you achieve it and will provide you with the compliance paperwork that verifies your efforts too. Whether you need a one-off collection or would like to set up a regular service, we’ll always recycle everything we can in order to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill.
We can manage just about any type of waste, even hazardous – the only thing we can’t take is liquid waste (petrol, oil, diesel).
Boasting some of the fastest turnaround times in the industry, we can often be at your door within an hour or arrange a convenient 2-hour window. Plus, we’re available 24 hours a day, so we can be there to support your business whenever you need us.
